Eyelash Growth Serum

Eyelash Growth Serum

Lumigan used cosmetically is for hypotrichosis which is used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.

How does it work?

Lumigan makes eyelash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost opthalmic solution. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, Lumigan is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.

How long until you see results?

The growth serum starts working after 8-12 weeks as this is the length of time it takes for the new lash to grow.

How do I apply it?

Once a day apply one thin stroke of the product using the wand applicator across the base of the top lid eyelashes where they meet the skin. You only need one lash stroke of the product, there is no need to re-soak the brush midway through one eye. Reload the product for the other eye and repeat.

What are the potential side effects?

The side effects that occurred in the largest percentage of participants were eye redness (3.6%) and itchiness (also 3.6%). It was also reported that permanent brown pigmentation of the iris is a potential side effect, but when using the product for glaucoma, when dropping it into the eye, there is a small risk 1.9% of discolouration.
